Ten dodatek dodaje piątą grywalną klasę w grze: the Mechromancer, która to może wzywać zabójczego robota zawanego Deathtrap.  Oprócz nowej klasy, dodatek zawiera dodatkowe przedmioty, które wchodziły w skład Borderlands 2 Premiere Club Pack, włączając złoty pakiet broni Gearbox oraz złoty klucz, ktory odblokowuje rzadkie przedmioty w tajemniczej Sanctuary Loot Chest oraz Vault Hunter’s Relic, który wzmacnia Twoje wyposażenie.

Mechromancer to kobieta cyborg, której "asem w rękawie" jest technologia. W walce może pomagać jej mech – Deathtrap i będzie posiadała trzy drzewka umiejętności odzwierciedlające poziomy trudności. Dla przykładu pierwsze jest nazywane "dla dziewczyn" i przeznaczone jest dla osób mało obeznanych w FPS-ach. Jedna ze zdolności w tym drzewku spowoduje, że zawsze będziemy trafiali w przeciwnika – jeśli pocisk go ominie, to się od czegoś odbije i trafi rykoszetem.
