Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt jest kolejnym rozszerzeniem do gry studia Gearbox Software, która rozgrywa się na planecie Pandora. Deweloper łączy w niej klimaty science-fiction, humor i rozgrywkę napakowaną akcją. W Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt wybieramy się na tytułowe polowanie u boku wąsatego Sir Hammerlocka, jednej z barwniejszych postaci z uniwersum Borderlands 2. Ofiarami są wyjątkowo rzadkie i egzotyczne bestie, zamieszkujące nowe tereny Pandory. Początkowe polowanie szybko przeobraża się w poważniejszą przygodę, dotyczącą pewnego plemienia, które wyznaje Handsome Jacka i tym samym zagraża całej planecie. Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt rozgrywa się na niedostępnym wcześniej kontynencie – Aegrus – złożonym z kilku lokacji.
